BEN FUSARI
The first thread of our legacy was spun by Sophie Fusari in 1928, in Genoa, Italy, when she opened Sartoria Fusari. Forced from Italy by the war, she established a new life and family in Marseille, France, where her grandson, Ben, was born decades later in 1987.
From her, he inherited not just a name, but a profound passion for craftsmanship, refinement and innovation.
Years later, after earning an MBA in International Business, Ben arrived in Shanghai, China — a city whose energy and ambition instantly resonated with him. Within six months, Atelier Fusari was born: a fusion of Italian craft, French elegance, and Chinese dynamism.
Entirely self-taught in fashion design and pattern making, Ben began by importing luxury Italian fabrics and collaborating with Chinese ateliers. Together, they developed his collection and a made-to-order production model, all following his creative designs and enforced by his extremely strict quality control. At the time, “Made in China” luxury was rarely taken seriously—yet Ben was determined to change that perception.
In 2011, he opened his first boutique in Shanghai. Just months later, a feature by a major Chinese blogger propelled Atelier Fusari into the spotlight—marking the beginning of a new chapter for "Proudly Made in China" excellence and validating his vision and craftsmanship.
